Everything On The Same Day

Why does everything always end up scheduled for the same day?  My son's baseball is starting up and the practices are on Wednesday and Saturdays.  Unfortunately he has dance practice with his dance company at the same time.  This Saturday he has his Cub Scouts Blue and Gold dinner, baseball practice and CYO basketball playoffs.  Our pack decided to have the Blue and Gold at a local park and it is the same time as the basketball playoffs.  We always had the Blue and Gold on a Friday night why would you schedule it for a Saturday at a park??  It is going to be cold out there.  My son will miss his Blue and Gold banquet this year.  He is going to his basketball playoff game and before the game he is going to his baseball practice.
