My son participated in the Junior Olympics this last Saturday. He ran the in the relay and the 200m races. He also did the softball throw and the standing long jump. At the prelims he tried out for the 50m but he didn't qualify. The boy was ahead in his 200m heat but then he ran out of steam at the last half of the run. Our school Junior Olympics athletes did an awesome job. Our school won:
1st Place Championship - most track and field points overall
1st Place Spirit Award - our cheer squad never stopped the entire day! Everyone showed great sportsmanship!
We had four of our athletes in each age group get the boy/girl athlete of the meet awards. It was a fun but long day.
