Last night early this morning there was a Total Lunar Eclipse. It was spectacular. We weren't sure if we were going to be able to see it because it was cloudy and rainy all day. But the clouds cleared so we could see it. The clouds were coming and going to we had to wait sometimes to see the eclipse. We haven't seen a full eclipse in years. The last one we saw was in the 1990's as we were coming home we saw the moon was covered so we stopped to see it. Last night's eclipse also coincides with the Winter Solstice how cool is that? The eclipse was the first total lunar eclipse to occur on the day of the Northern Winter Solstice since 1638. My son stayed up and got to see it with us. We got rained on a bit during the eclipse but that didn't dampen our spirits from watching it.
