Yesterday was another busy day. The first half of the day was the boys Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby. Lots of excitement in the air. There was some very creative cars like a hot dog in a bun and a pencil. Each den races against there fellow den members. After all of the dens race the ones that made the final heat race against each other until they get down to the top 3 in each den. The boy got 3rd place. He has gotten 3rd place for the last 3 years. He so wanted to get 2nd place. His friend got 2nd place. His friend was so excited about getting second place because last year he didn't get in the finals. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places all get a trophy and everyone gets a Pinewood Derby Pin.
After the derby we got to rest for a little bit before going to my sister-in-laws house for my mother-in-laws birthday dinner. I was so tired after spending half the day with the Cub Scouts. My sister-in-law had grilled beef, chicken and the fixings for fajitas. She made a really good tomato salsa with cilantro. She always makes a lot of good desserts, too. Hubby made a Potato Leek soup to bring to his sister's house. They all liked the soup. I didn't get a chance to try it. He saved some for us so we will have it tomorrow night for dinner.
