Vacation Day 5

Day 5 -- 7-31-08

We left Flagstaff and headed on Highway 89A to Sedona. Highway 89A is a very pretty and scenic Highway. We got stuck behind a slow going motorcycle with a trailer, a suv and another motorcycle. The first motorcycle was going extremely slow and site seeing. He didn't pull over to left the long string of cars go past him. We finally get to Sedona where they were doing construction. There was a lot of construction going on in Arizona. We stopped at the Visitors Center and got a map of the sites but we ended up only seeing the Chapel of the Holy Cross which is a small chapel built into the hillside. It is remarkable to see. There is a great view out of the window in the chapel. We met a couple from Santa Cruz that had relocated to Sedona after one of their children got married there. They were a really nice couple. We had bought postcards in Yosemite and Grand Canyon and finally mailed them in Sedona. lol The couple pointed us to the post office but we ended up mailing them from the UPS store. We headed out to down Highway 15 to Phoenix and then onto Highway 10 to Blythe which is near the border of California and Arizona where we spent the night before heading to Disneyland.

  1. It is so much fun to follow your vacation because we did the same area in April! I liked the Chapel too!

  2. How cool is that! I've been there myself when we lived in Payson.

    I loved that church.
