Spring Madness Dance and Fundraiser

Hubby and I went to a fundraiser for our son's school on Saturday night. Their 13th Annual Dance and Auction Fundraiser. The theme this year was Spring Madness. This is the first time we have gone to this event. My friends kept telling us how fun it was so we thought we would go this year. They have an auction set up in one room with art work the kids in each grade made, some services donated for the auction and you can bid on spending time with some of the teachers like bowling, going to breakfast, having the teacher come over to read and tuck in your child at bedtime and cooking with a teacher. My son's class did an etched cake platter which was really nice. I bid on it but another parent out bid me. Bummer. They had people walking around with appetizer trays. Another room was set up with tables, a bar, a small buffet table and a DJ. There was a live auction with some really cool packages but we didn't bid on any of those. They were way out of our price range. The buffet was really good. They had Parmesan chicken strips, Caesar salad, bread, salmon with citrus and onion glaze and a rice dish. It was really yummy. They also had a dessert table. After the live auction they had dancing. It was like being in Junior High where all of the girls danced together. LOL There were a few women dancing as a group and having a great time. Hubby and I danced. The other husbands starting coming up and dancing with their wives. We had a great time. We haven't been out together in a long time. Our friend's daughter watched our son, his friend, her daughter and a couple of her friends. It was a fun night. We are looking forward to next years dance and fundraiser.
