Halloween Party

One of our friends, whose daughter is in the same grade as our son, invited hubby and I to her adult  only Halloween party.  She invited us  a couple of days before the party so we didn't have any costumes on hand. We went to House of Humor to find a last minute costume.  My son was invited to a friends Halloween party so that was perfect. There were tons of people looking for last minute costumes there.  It was too crowded.  I was surprised that there were any costumes left at all.  Of course, all of the good costumes were gone. We went up and down the isles looking for a costume but nothing struck our fantasy.  We didn't have any idea what we wanted to dress up as.  We weren't even thinking about it.  It just wasn't on our radar.  I tried on several costumes but none of them looked good on me so I ended up not getting a one.  Hubby found a pirate costume that looked on him so he got that.  I decided to wear my disco costume from my friend's 50th birthday party last year.  I just got a few more jewelry pieces to add to the costume.  I had on leggings, hippy top with some 60's jewelry and earrings.  I got a lot of compliments on the costume.  I have lost 10lbs since last year so the top fitted and the sandals I wore fitted better.  My friend invited her neighbors and a few parents from my sons school.  The food was yummy.  She made 4 huge salmons, asparagus, hummus with naan, cheese and fruit.  It was a very nice spread.  Another friend made some yummy cupcakes.  I brought the hostess a bottle of Black Cat Riesling which was in a black cat bottle.  So cute.  We had a good time even though we didn't know that many people.  We got to meet some new people.  Hubby left early to go pick up our son from his party so I was at the party by myself.  Everyone kept asking if he was coming back.  LOL!  We were going to have him stay at home but our friend said it was alright if hubby brought him back with him to the party.  My son hung out with our friends daughter so that worked out.  He hasn't seen her in a while because she is going to the middle school now.

Halloween Parade

Today was my son's school's Halloween Parade.  He is in 5th grade so he didn't get to walk in the parade.  From 5th grade up they just watch the parade.  It is cute watching the younger kids parade around the black top with their costumes on.  There were a lot of kids wearing Giants stuff as their costume.  All of the teachers were wearing their Giants gear.  My son is an unknown phantom.  His friend was Brian "Fear The Beard" Wilson(SF Giants Closer), one of his classmates was pumpkin head, there was an Elphaba, a camo dude, a zombie doctor, the scream, a spider girl.  One of the 3rd grade(who is pregnant) was dressed as a bun in the oven.  So cute.  His teacher from last year had her baby son who was born in July with her this morning.  His class had their Halloween party.  They had carrots with olives, popcorn hand bags, juice, water and goodie bags.  A lot simpler and with less food then the lower grades.  They watched a movies called "The Witches" from the Roald Dahl book, "The Witches".

Happy Halloween!

We had a good Halloween. My son had a late afternoon soccer game. It was a sunny mild day for a soccer game. His Grandma and Auntie came to watch him play. He did an awesome job playing forward, goalie and defense. It was a good game but they lost 7-1 though. The other team had some good players on their team.

Later we went to the boys best friend’s house and went trick or treating with him and his parents. That was fun. We usually just go trick or treating in our neighborhood with the boys friend across the street so that was a nice change of pace. His friend lives on a hill so we got our exercise in. The houses on the hill don’t get hardly any trick or treaters so the guys got some really good loot. Hubby and I got to visit with our friends and the boy got to visit with his friend. The boy wanted to do something different this year so that worked out well. He said he wants to go trick or treating with his friend again next year. After we got back from trick or treating with them the boy and I went around our neighborhood. His friend across the street was sick so he only went out for a little bit. A little girl who was in 2nd grade was out trick or treating with her parents by herself she wanted someone to go trick or treating with so she tagged along with us. It was cute. We didn’t that many little ones this year but lots more teenagers. They were driving in our neighborhood by the car load. The street was full of cars and teens.
